PhD in History from Universidade Federal Fluminense. Postdoctoral studies at
the University of Évora and the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales
(Paris). She is a member of the Laboratory of Iberian Worlds and H-Moderna,
the Brazilian Network of Modern History Studies. She is also an associate
researcher at IberLAND, a research group at Leibniz University Hannover. Her
research focuses on religious orders, the Inquisition, and enslaved populations
in the Portuguese Empire in Asia. Her areas and topics of interest include
Modern History, the Portuguese empire, Iberian societies, the history of
missions, the Inquisition, conversions and religiosities, trajectories of enslaved
people, the History of Asia, and Orientalism.
