Has a Master’s and Doctorate in Social History from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ, 2004), with an internship in École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS, 2001). Did Post-Doctoral research in Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP, 2015/2016), the Institute of Social Sciences of Universidade de Lisboa (ICS/UL – 2020), and Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2021).

CNPq Researcher with a Productivity Fellowship and a Young Scientist of Our State Fellow (FAPERJ). Visiting Researcher in Universidade de Paris I – Panthéon Sorbonne (2015/2016) and in the Institute of Social Sciences of Universidade de Lisboa – ICS/UL (2011/2012 and 2014/2015).

Received the National Archives Research Award for her Master’s thesis “The Army in the consolidation of the Empire: a historical study of conservative military politics,” published in 1999”.

Areas of interest: History of the Brazilian Empire, History of Military Institutions, History of Law and Justice, Historiography and Biography.
