Full Professor, Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ) .

Has a degree in History from Universidade de Brasília (1986) and a Doctorate in History from Universidade de São Paulo (1995). Did Post-Doctorate research in Stanford University (United States, 1999/2000) and Consejo Superior de Investigación Scientific (Espanha, 2016)

CNPq researcher with a productivity fellowship.

Participates in discussion networks about the indigenous question in the colonial period and the process of the formation of national states in Latin America, involving researchers from different institutions and countries.

Area of Interest: History of Contemporary Brazil (1930-1964): State, Power, and Social Movements; Indigenous History (Empire and Republic): Zones of Contact, Inter-Ethnic Relations and Indigenist Policy; Agrarian History (Empire and Republic): Agrarian Policy, Colonization and Social Movements.
