Professor, Department of History, Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro.

Has a degree and Master’s in History from Universidade Federal Fluminense, a Doctorate in Social History from the Graduate Program in Social History of Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Did Post-Doctoral research in the National Observatory of Rio de Janeiro, between 2007 and 2008. CAPES/PVE Visiting Professor in the University of Alabama (USA), between 2018 and 2019.

Coordinator of the Research Group Propriety and its multiple dimensions (NUPEP) and Researcher do Laboratory Economics and History (LEHI). Is an associate researcher of the Proprietas Network (National Institute of Science and Technology): Social History of Property and Rights of Access.

Areas of interest: Economic and Social History; History of Imperial Brazil; Work and Cultural Practices in the Nineteenth Century; Universal Exhibitions and Museums; Intellectual Property and Technology.
