Full Professor, Department of History, UFRRJ.

Has a degree in History from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (1980), a Master’s and Doctorate in Sociology from Instituto Universitário de Pesquisa do Rio de Janeiro (2002), and did Post-Doctoral research in Instituto de Ciências Sociais, Universidade de Lisboa (2012 and 2017).

Part of the Laboratory of Iberian Worlds (LAMI) and the Laboratory of Studies of Gender Relations, Masculinities, and Transgenders (LabQueer). Has experience in the area of History, with an emphasis on the areas of theory and the History of Historiography in the modern era, the Portuguese Empire in the modern era in the spaces of the Portuguese Americas and Indies, working mainly with the following themes: History and Historiography of religion, Intellectual History, Gender studies.
