How are the student representatives chosen for the Full and Executive Boards?
Answer: Up to twenty percent of the full board of PPGEDUC is composed of students from the program. The student representatives, along with their respective alternates, will be elected by the students regularly enrolled in PPGEDUC. For the Executive Board, one student representative and one alternate student representative will be appointed. The term of office for the student representative(s) will be 1 (one) year, with the possibility of re-election for two additional terms.
What should I do if my advisor does not respond to me?
Answer: The student should inform the situation to the PPGEDUC Secretariat via email at ufrrj.secretariappgeduc@gmail.com. After receiving the email, the program’s secretariat will report the matter to the PPGEDUC Coordination for verification and resolution.
I am pregnant, is there a specific process for deadlines?
Answer: Yes, the student should request maternity leave through a specific form available on the program’s website (Documents Tab – Maternity Leave). The form must be accompanied by a medical certificate stating the period of leave and the baby’s birth certificate. The form and all supporting documentation must be sent in a single PDF file to the PPGEDUC Secretariat via email at ufrrj.secretariappgeduc@gmail.com. The program’s secretariat will open an administrative process in the UFRRJ Integrated System of Heritage, Administration, and Contracts (SIPAC) for the purpose of registering the granted leave and will request the approval of the leave by the Program’s Board. The pregnant student is entitled to an additional 4 (four) months of course time, which will be added to the maximum time for completing the course, as per the provisions of Federal Law No. 6202/1975. If the student decides to suspend their enrollment for this period, the coordination/secretariat must forward the process to the PROPPG, attaching the board minutes. Active CAPES Social Demand Program scholarship holders who have had a baby are entitled to a 4 (four) month extension of the scholarship, according to CAPES Ordinance No. 248, dated 12/19/2011. To register the leave in the Scholarship and Assistance Control System (SCBA), in addition to the documents mentioned above, a live birth certificate is required. We recommend that as soon as the scholarship holder has the documents, they send them to the PPGEDUC Secretariat as soon as possible.
