Line 2: Social Inequalities and Educational Policies
This line is based on history, sociology, anthropology, and education policy. Their
analytical trajectories permeate theories of the State, education, and social inequalities. In these
perspectives, it brings together investigations on the work/education relationship and its
implications in the class struggle; on the various experiences of popular education, in the city
and in the countryside, in particular the strategies of knowledge production by social and
instituting movements; on the history of educational and scientific institutions; on teaching
work, culture and the training of education professionals; and on the role of educational
practices in the dynamics of the production and reproduction of social inequalities in
contemporary times.

Line 3: Ethnic-Racial and Gender Education: Afro-Diasporic Languages and Studies
Line 3 considers Education as a possibility for the deconstruction of racist ideals and
practices, which perpetuate inequalities in Brazilian society and in different countries; it
provides opportunities for the establishment of dialogues on ethnic-racial and gender relations
with black, indigenous, feminists, LGBTQIA+ and from the countryside. It opens space for
interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research bringing together the subject areas of the
Human Sciences; Applied Social Sciences; Letters, Linguistics and the Arts, on decolonizing,
decolonial, multicultural epistemologies; languages (artistic, aesthetic, algorithmic); public
policies; teacher training; science; identities and memory; social ecologies; intersectionalities
of class, race, ethnicity, gender and sexualities.
