RESEARCH PROJECTS
- Racial Self-Declaration Verification Commissions in Affirmative Action Policies for Federal Public Higher Education Institutions: Implementation and Operation.
Period: (2019 – Present)
This inter-institutional research project aims to continue the investigation line developed by the research team at UFRRJ through Opaas (Observatory of Affirmative Action Policies in the Southeast). It analyzes the policies of racial quotas for PPI students (black, brown, and indigenous) implemented in Brazilian federal universities participating in this project and the creation, implementation, and operation of racial self-declaration verification commissions. Although Law 13.409/2016, which amended Law 12.711/2012, includes persons with disabilities as beneficiaries of such policies, this research focuses specifically on PPI students and the role of the racial self-declaration verification commissions.
