Contributions of Paulo Freire to Art Education: Escolinha de Arte do Recife.
Period: (06/01/2021 to 05/31/2022)
Summary: This is a theoretical postdoctoral project aimed at analyzing Paulo Freire’s contributions in the field of Art Education. To outline this journey, we identify three key words as the core of our research: First, “Paulo Freire,” as one of the founders of Escolinha de Arte do Recife. Second, “Escolinha de Arte do Recife,” in which we propose a study based on its collection. Third, “Ana Mae Barbosa,” an art educator who participated as a teacher at Escolinha de Arte do Recife. For this purpose, we chose a qualitative exploratory approach, supported by documentary research.
