Líder do Grupo de Pesquisa GEDUR (CNPq). Pós-Doutorado em Sistema de Espaços Livres – PROARQ-UFRJ (2010-2012). Doutora (2008) e Mestre (2002) pelo PROARQ, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Doutorado-Sanduíche na San Diego State University (2006). Arquiteta-Urbanista pelo Instituto Metodista Bennett (1988). Pesquisador Visitante no Centro de Estudos Latino Americanos na Universidade da Califórnia, San Diego (2009-2010). Pesquisadora colaboradora do ProLUGAR e SEL-RJ, UFRJ. Atuou como Professor Visitante na Universidade da California, San Diego para o programa de Estudos Urbanos e Planejamento (USP-UCSD); Centro de Estudos Ibéricos e Latino-Americanos (CILAS); e no Departamento de História (2009-2010). Na San Diego State University, atuou como docente no Centro de Estudos Latino Americanos (CLAS). Lecionou ainda na FAU-UFRJ (2002-2004 e 2007-2008), na Faculdade de Arquitetura da Bennett (2004) e no curso de Pós-Graduação em Design de Interiores do SENAI-CETIQT (2008-2010). Possui extensa experiência prática em variados segmentos, escalas e complexidades da Arquitetura e Urbanismo: residencial, interiores, instalações comerciais e industriais, projetos de urbanização de favelas (Favela-Bairro), habitação social, etc. Autora de diversos artigos científicos e capítulos de livros no Brasil e no exterior, e tradutora de publicações e artigos na área de Arquitetura, Urbanismo e Paisagismo.

Degree in Architecture and Urbanist; M.Sc. (2002) and Ph.D. (2008) in Architecture from the Graduate Program of Architecture of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (PROARQ/UFRJ), with Doctoral Research at San Diego State University (SDSU) (2006). After her Doctorate, in 2009 she moved to San Diego, California, where she was a Fellow at the Center for Iberian and Latin American Studies at the University of California, San Diego (CILAS-UCSD); was a Lecturer at the Urban Studies and Planning Program and the Department of History, teaching classes on urban revitalization and Brazilian urbanization. At SDSU, she was a Lecturer at the Center for Latin-American Studies (CLAS-SDSU). She carried out a post-doctoral research at PROARQ, with emphasis on Open Spaces Systems. She had a previous experience as a lecturer at the School of Architecture and Urbanism of UFRJ and the graduate program of SENAI-CETIQT. In 2019, she was a Visiting Fellow at the Behner Stiefel Center for Brazilian Studies at SDSU. Since 2012 she is a Professor of the Department of Architecture and Urbanism, where she teaches Studio Design focusing on the social aspects and function of Architeture and cities. She was granted a scholarship as a Productivity Fellow (JCNE-FAPERJ) for the triennium 2018-2021 to carry out research on territorial inequalities and conflicts at the west metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro under the premises of the Urban Agenda 2030, addressing themes of peripheral urbanization, urban expansion, territory, mobility infrastructure, sustainability, among others.
