Infrastructure

1.PPQQ Analytical Center (Multi-user website for the Analytical Center) located in the rooms 38A and 38B of the Department of Chemistry gathers many multi-user equipments that were acquired with funds from financial agencies (FAPERJ, CNPQ, CAPES, FINEP etc). Nowadays this space has: ______ “gaseous chromotograph applied to mass spectrometry”… Series II… Spectropolarimeter of Circular Dichroism, Digital Polarimeter, Freeze Dryer and Chamelon Plate Reader, ChemDoc Image Scanner, Raman and FLASH Isolera Four Chromatography System. Some of these equipments (NMR, CGMS, CG-FID) are maintained by UPS (No Break) – a secondary power supply system – and keeps the operation of the equipment when there is an interruption in the supply of the primary energy. In addition to the UPS, there is a 55KVa generator to supply electricity in an emergency regime when there is a power outage. The multi-user equipments allocated at the Analytical Center have provided analytical support for the development of students` theses and dissertations and allowed the execution of an articulated set of lines of research activities from other institutions.

2. The Chemical Kinetics Laboratory located in room 44 of the Chemistry Department has the following resources: seven machines with I7 processors (in all, 8 processors each), with 8 or 16Gb of RAM and 1Tb of disk. All of the machines were acquired with FAPERJ resources, as well as two deskjet printers (Epson Stylus TX 125 and HP Officejet 4500 G510A) and three laser printers (Canon 1120, Samsung SCX-4100 and HP laserjet P3015). The resources have been destined to the processing of the calculations ab initio: kinetic and chemical dynamic in order to develop the potential energy surfaces for the cases under study in our Laboratory and also to prevent variational velocity coefficients

3. The Laboratory of Molecular Modeling located in room 44 (2nd floor) of the Chemistry Department at UFRRJ has the following equipments, acquired in the last 5 years:
