The Postgraduate Program in Chemistry aims to:
a) Produce knowledge and consolidate research in Chemistry, its sub-areas and tangential areas at UFRRJ through close relationships between researchers at the Chemistry Institute and others, trainnig students with broad knowledge of Chemistry.
b) Generate technical-scientific and innovative knowledge in specific domains of Chemistry, in line with the active Research Topics in the PPGQ.
c) Train qualified researchers, teachers and Chemistry professionals in theoretical and experimental domains, aiming to generate a multiplier effect for regional and national technical-scientific development.
d) Stimulate creativity, reflection and self-criticism and provide permanent conditions for updating, improvement and specialization of researchers in Chemistry.
e) To train reflective and critical individuals in the socio-economic and cultural domains, with the ability to perceive and combat asymmetries and promote equity in relation to various regional, national and global issues.
f) To provide graduates from UFRRJ and other educational institutions with training for research in Chemistry.
g) To contribute to the development of teachers in Basic Education, in Solidarity Actions, aiming at improving Chemistry Teaching in the regional space, as well as with the local community, aiming at scientific dissemination, political-scientific discussion and improvement of quality of life.
h) Contribute to other Postgraduate Programs at UFRRJ and other Institutions and Research Centers, in Solidarity Actions, through Chemical Analyses performed at the Multiuser Analytical Center.
