He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1994), a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1997) and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2001). He is currently an associate professor at the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro, teaching undergraduate and graduate classes in: Process Analysis and Control, Advanced Control and Petroleum Engineering. He works mainly on the following topics: Modeling, Optimization, Process control, Process instrumentation; Artificial intelligence; Drilling techniques MPD (Manage Pressure Drilling) and PMCD (Pressurized Mud Cap Drilling); gas kick and loss of circulation.
