Professor Meleiro holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro, Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). He served as Associate Professor and Researcher in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Federal University of Paraná (Brazil) between 2003 and 2006. In 2007 he moved to the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), where he is currently Full Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering (meleiro@ufrrj.br). Professor Meleiro’s professional research interests are primarily related to mathematical modelling, artificial intelligence, advanced control and optimization of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Engineering processes.
