Self-evaluation

The PFBA/ UFRRJ self-evaluation constitutes a tool for an initial reflection on the progress of the graduate program and subsequent analysis of the indicators that will lead to the implementation of strategies and, consequently, the decision-making process that will guarantee the rise of the course level and its continued growth. Under current conditions, self-assessment allows us to know our current status in the course.

The purpose of self-evaluation is to assess the performance of our graduate course, taking into account the training of students, quality of research by professors, scientific production as well as the insertion of program graduates.

The strategy in general terms of the course consists of the periodic evaluation of knowledge production by monitoring the training of students and the quality of knowledge production. For this, the identification of STRENGTHS, OPPORTUNITIES and THREATS, WEAKNESSES in the program will be key.

The actions will make it possible to fulfill the program’s objectives, which are:

  • Establish a schedule of seminars that allows monitoring the progress and progress of the course in a short period of time, allowing for faster detection of shortcomings.
  • Monitoring and biannual survey of thesis defenses and number of articles published.
  • Monitoring and training activities to identify products with potential for patents and generation of technologies.
  • Insertion of representatives of societies in scientific events, participation in experimentation as well as dissemination of information leaflets of interest to society.
  • Elaboration and application of questionnaires to professors, students and technicians that allow the accumulation of useful information for their discussion and implementation in the course.
  • Identification of research groups from foreign and reputable universities to participate in research project partnerships, research internships in laboratories in Brazil and abroad, as well as offering courses in a foreign language and lectures by guest professors.
