,                                                                                          (1)

where:

PT is the number of total points of the applicant;

IG is the degree index, equation 2;

CV is the result of part 2 of the Barema, Annex I and

EP It is the result of part 3 of the Barema, Annex I.

The IG index is given by equation (2).

(2)

where:

f is the formation factor given in Table 1;

CRA is the candidate’s Accumulated Achievement Coefficient, reported in the academic transcript and

CPC (Preliminary course concept issued by INEP), item 4 of Barema, Annex 1;

(Note. A course that does not have a CPC will be assigned a value of 1 to this index.)

Table 1. Education factor for the IG equation.

Education f

Biology, Biotechnology, Nanotechnology and Pharmacy, other areas of life sciences / life technologists. 0.8

Academic transcripts and curriculum will be evaluated according to Barema, properly completed by the applicant, and presented in ANNEX I of this Announcement.

The PT scores for each candidate will be normalized through a linear adjustment on a scale of 0 to 10, as required in the UFRRJ SIGAA system, giving the candidate with the highest raw rating a score of 10. The highest gross score will be used as the standard for calculating the remaining scores.

4.2. ORAL EVALUATION:

The purpose of the oral evaluation is to analyze the candidate’s overall knowledge when it comes to debating ideas related to their undergraduate training and will be conducted by an examining board composed of professors who are members of the PPGEQ Board.

During this stage (included in this Announcement), the candidate is fully responsible for ensuring that there is an isolated space (without the presence of third parties) containing a computer or cell phone that allows audio and video to be recorded. This equipment must be connected (during the stages of the selection process) to the international computer network with a bandwidth that is sufficient for video conferencing. The equipment must be positioned so that the applicant’s hands are free and the camera can simultaneously show the candidate’s hands and face throughout the process.

The oral evaluation committee will include professors Claudia Miriam Scheid, Filipe Arantes Furtado, Glauco Favilla Bauerfeldt, Lindoval Domiciano Fernandes, Luís Américo Calçada, Luiz Augusto da Cruz Meleiro, Luiz Henrique Guerreiro Rosado, Márcia Peixoto Vega Domiciano, Marisa Fernandes Mendes, Renata Nunes Oliveira and Roberta Helena Mendonça.

The oral evaluation will be conducted in accordance with item 4.2 of this Announcement and will serve as an eliminator.

Any applicants who do not attend the oral evaluation will be automatically eliminated from the selection process.
