He holds a degree in Geography from the Fluminense Federal University (UFF), a specialization in Geography Teaching from the Lato Sensu Postgraduate Program in Basic Education at the Faculty of Teacher Education of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (FFP-UERJ), a master&#8217;s degree in Geography from UFF, and a Ph.D. in Education from the Graduate Program in Education, Contemporary Contexts, and Popular Demands at the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (PPGEDUC\/UFRRJ).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He is currently an Adjunct Professor in the Geography program at the Multidisciplinary Institute of the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (IM-UFRRJ). He also teaches in the Specialization Program in Educational Management at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (CEGEd-UFRRJ), the Graduate Program in Geography at FFP-UERJ (PPGG-FFP\/UERJ), and the Graduate Program in Education, Contemporary Contexts, and Popular Demands at UFRRJ (PPGEDUC\/UFRRJ). Additionally, he serves as Head of the Geography Department at IM-UFRRJ and as Deputy Coordinator of CEGEd-UFRRJ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Professor Andrade is a researcher in the Research Group on Labor, Politics, and Society (GTPS-UFRRJ), a member of the Universitas Network, and a member of the Geography Teaching Working Group of the Brazilian Association of Geographers (AGB). His research interests include Geography Education, Educational Policies, and Youth and Adult Education. It is linked to the Department of Education and Society at the Multidisciplinary Institute of UFRRJ and includes faculty members, undergraduate and graduate students\u2014both from within and outside the institution\u2014who investigate contemporary forms of labor organization, production management, social relations of production, collective organization and action of workers, social labor history, and the relationship between labor, education, and public policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The concept of <strong>&#8220;Labor&#8221;<\/strong> serves as the unifying element of the group\u2019s diverse research activities. GTPS aims to provide researchers from different fields with a productive environment for developing reflections and generating knowledge about labor, not only in its economic dimension but also in its sociological, political, and cultural aspects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to research activities integrated with teaching and university extension projects, GTPS is actively engaged in training new researchers through the supervision of scientific initiation scholarship holders funded by PIBIC\/CNPq, FAPERJ, and the UFRRJ Institutional Scientific Initiation Scholarship Program (PROIC). It also supervises master&#8217;s and doctoral students whose research aligns with its thematic focus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Research Group Website:<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/trabalhopoliticaesociedade.blogspot.com\/\">GTPS Research Group<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">RESEARCH PROJECTS<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>New Management Models for Public Education Systems and the Precarization of Teaching Labor: A Study on the Impact of the Managerial Model on School Work Dynamics<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since the 1970s, in response to the capitalist class\u2019s attempt to restore its profit margins eroded by the crisis of the Fordist development model, significant changes have been introduced in labor management, production processes, and class conflict mediation mechanisms. Although Brazil has its own characteristics as a dependent economy, the country has followed this global trend by implementing extensive productive restructuring and a comprehensive state reform. This has involved reconfiguring class conflict mediation mechanisms and adopting a new managerial model of public administration, centered on competitiveness and the rationalization of material and human resources as quality criteria for public services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Within this broader state reform, key features include: Rationalization and flexibilization of labor and production; Implementation of temporary employment contracts, outsourcing, and volunteer work Deregulation of public sector employees\u2019 rights; Public-private partnerships in the delivery of public services. Under this paradigm, the quality and productivity of public services are increasingly assessed through market-driven criteria, based on the argument that market mechanisms provide a more effective solution to the inefficient allocation of public resources. This logic has also been applied to school administration, where governments have introduced substantive changes to ensure higher quality and productivity in education. The managerial model has become the reference for implementing new strategies of results control and resource rationalization, imposing a new reality on school labor and production management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This research examines the impact of these changes on school labor management and production. It empirically investigates the new educational management model implemented by various state governments and the federal government. The study aims to determine whether the adoption of this managerial model in school labor management has contributed to the intensification of precarious working conditions in public education systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Methodologically, this is a qualitative, basic research project with an explanatory approach, categorized as documentary research. Data collection involves a literature review and analysis of primary and secondary bibliographic sources.
