In this way, it is reflected in the contribution to excellence in research, teaching and extension, thus assisting the development of the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro, and consequently in regional development.\"><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">The creation of the PGEAAmb was in line with the institutional development plan of UFRRJ, which aims, among other aspects, to expand and diversify teaching activities at the undergraduate, graduate, extension and basic education levels by offering new courses and different teaching modalities. The implementation of the Postgraduate Program in Agricultural and Environmental Engineering provided positive improvements to the undergraduate courses in Agricultural and Environmental Engineering of the Engineering Department of UFRRJ, in addition to contributing to the constant improvement of all the professors involved, generating positive effects on the technical quality of the training of the undergraduates of these courses and in the others where these professors work.
