Directions
The PPGGEO is located in the Geosciences Department on the Seropédica campus. There are two ways to reach Seropédica when leaving from the city of Rio de Janeiro or Niterói: Avenida Brasil/former Estrada Rio-São Paulo or Rodovia Presidente Dutra.
By car
Option 1: Along Avenida Brasil towards Zona Oeste, when you see the Viaduto Oscar Brito (also known as Cabritos) turn right (BRAHMA Factory). Follow the former Estrada Rio-São Paulo to KM 47 (UFRRJ).
Option 2: Along Rodovia Presidente Dutra towards Rio-São Paulo, after the Viúva Graça Toll Booth, turn right at the first exit; go straight on until UFRRJ (approximately 5 km).
Option 3: Along Rodovia Presidente Dutra towards Rio-São Paulo, after the BOB’S (BELVEDERE) take the first exit on the right, go straight until UFRRJ (approximately 5 km).
By bus or train
Option 1: Use the Central-Seropédica or Castelo-Seropédica buses of Viação Real Rio; the first one leaves the Américo Fontenele terminal in the Central do Brasil, and the second leaves the Menezes Cortes terminal, in Castelo.
Option 2: Take the train from D. Pedro II (Central do Brasil) station. In this case, get off at Campo Grande and take one of the following buses near the 1st train station (Rua Campo Grande) from the Real Rio bus company: Campo Grande-Belvedere, Campo Grande-Paracambi or Campo Grande-Japeri.
Option 3: Take the bus at Novo Rio bus station bound for some cities in the south of the state, through the Rodovia Presidente Dutra. For this route, follow the same directions, provided below for those descending at Belvedere Viúva Graça.
Coming from the southern part of the state or from São Paulo, get off at Belvedere Viúva Graça on Rodovia Presidente Dutra and take the bus on one of the following lines: Belvedere-Campo Grande, Belvedere-Itaguaí, Paracambi-Campo Grande, Japeri-Campo Grande.
